Jay Charnock

Jay is one of our most successful photographers of people in the street. Jay manages to get such natural expressions on her subjects. As you can see in these two photographs Jay can use and enhance light and shade to add drama and atmosphere to her photographs. The Seated Lady was taken in Vinales on a Leica Q. The black and white photograph of the man in Berwick Street, London has echoes of the wonderful film The Third Man. Those into classic cinema will remember this film as being full of atmospheric camera work. Jay used a Leica Q2 M for this picture.

Photo comment By Cled Lewis: I can see the similarity to the atmospheric photography in The Third Man. Orson Welles in the shadows and Joseph Cotton too I think, but it was the lighting I remember Cled Lewis
