HALF A CENTURY OF FELLOWSHIP
The year 2026 is a landmark year for The Leica Fellowship, it is the 50th year since the group was founded by likeminded Leica enthusiasts at a meeting in Luton on the 27th March 1976.
I can do no better than refer you to our Webmaster’s article on The Fellowship for the background and history.
Fifty years on, the majority of the early members are still active participants of The Fellowship which speaks volumes for the original concept.
Although no longer able to attract new members through the Leica School who, when in existence actively supported us, we continue to welcome new members through the website which has a worldwide following.
We celebrated our 40th anniversary at Allensford, Northumberland in the Spring of 2016 and some fifty members attended. Attached is a group photograph.
Our 50th anniversary meeting is scheduled for the weekend of 24th to the 27th April, 2026 at Stanton House, Stanton Fitzwarren Hotel in the Cotswolds.
It would be wonderful to see as many members as are able to attend, new members who attended recent meetings will confirm how much they enjoyed the company.
Members will have received details of the meeting within the last few days.
