---===&&&&&===---

Welcome to the Leica Fellowship, a group of friends who share an interest in Leica photography. Twice a year members can meet for a weekend away in a different part of the UK. A quarterly newsletter contains news and articles, written by members. As well as the weekends, which are great fun, members communicate by email, telephone or Zoom meetings and through this website.

Our website has two main aims:

1. To inform our existing members.

Regular news updates will be the main method of informing members of future plans and meetings. The Gallery will show examples of members’ Leica photography.

2. To attract new members

We hope that our website will attract new members. There is help in abundance for those new to Leica ownership. What better place to learn about fine photography with a Leica?

For a modest subscription; and an interest in Leica equipment, you could join us. You would receive a warm and welcoming letter, and gain the opportunity to make new friends, possibly within your home area. We have members from overseas, but most live in the UK. Why not take that first step by using the link: Contact us here
and register your interest for the attention of our Membership Secretary?

FURTHER ADVENTURE WITH MY LEICA Q. Alan Humphries
12th December 2025
Alan shows us how effective the Q is with its 28mm lens.

His relationship with the camera now means we'll see more work from it in the future.

I have some sad news to report. I have heard from Nobby Clarke that Brian Bower has died. I have sent a suitable email to Nobby.
Brian will be remembered for the way he educated and entertained us with his photography and his books. His last presentation the the Fellowship a few years ago is a happy memory.

The Lure of Local Landscapes by David Askham 2025
04th December 2025

Is the grass always greener in a place far from home? Not necessarily so, as we learned from the confines of Covid. Many photographers found that when people were constrained to their home patch, it was still possible to produce a creditable body of photographic work without leaving their home patch.

We have lived in the English West Country for over 40 years; a great deal longer than in our previous lifestyle where we moved, on average, every 18 months; and spent over 8 years living abroad. But we have seen many changes over recent decades. You could say that we are getting to know our neighbourhood!

Yes, we are well settled and have got to know and appreciate the tranquility of our rural setting: the perfect location for a keen photographer. So when we were visited by Covid-19 constraints, it was no hardship to look at our locality more critically.

Covid is now behind us and, fortunately, our family was not adversely affected. Now we are older and less able to roam the world as we once did. Drawing on the wisdom derived from long and varied lives, I found the inspiration to write this reflective article on the Lure of Local Landscapes.
